Tense Buster
Tense Buster is a self-learning practice resource which covers 33 key areas of English grammar at five levels from Elementary to Advanced. The learning areas at each level include grammar rules, pronunciation, vocabulary and listening. Interactive exercises with explanatory notes are available for self-learners to learn English grammar in a systematic manner.
Practical Writing
Practical Writing is an online program to guide learners on how to write English letter, eassy, formal or informal documents. lt contains different forms of writing, from academic papers, essays, reports, e-mails to short messages which help learners improve their English writing skills systematically.
Study Skills Success
Study Skills Success is designed to train learner in academic English learning skills and strategy applications, enable them effectively applied to academic courses. This program also covers the following study skills: Independent learning, critical thinking and research data etc.
Road to IELTS
Road to IELTS is an online preparation and practice resource for IELTS candidates. It contains over 120 hours of interactive activities, advice videos from British Council experts, hints and tips on question types as well as downloadable practice tests.
Active Reading
Active Reading comes at six levels from Elementary to Advanced, with ten units in each level. This software stimulates learners' interest through close-to-life situation which make reading is no longer a daunting task.
Clear Pronunciation (Sounds)
Clear Pronunciation (Sounds) helps learners recognise and pronounce 43 English phonemes. The program includes audio clips, videos and recorder for learners to copy and ecord their voice and assess their pronunciation against a native speaker.
Clear Pronunciation (Speech)
Clear Pronunciation (Speech) allows learners to practice how to speak fluently and accurately, and also helps learners identify IPA phoneme symbols. The course content includes consonant clusters, sentence stress and intonation etc.
Electronic Resources
LRC's subscribed electronic resources such as eBooks and eJournals are accessible outside the CIC/HKIC network via OpenAthens by eligible CIC/HKIC staff and students. Eligible users only need to complete a simple authentication with their email username and password (xxxxxx@cic.hk/ @hkic.edu.hk/@connect.hkic.edu.hk) to browse electronic resources on any device (A3) anytime, anywhere.

Britannica Academic
Britannica Academic provides fast, reliable and convenient access to high quality content. Subjects include history, literature, science, geography, fine arts, etc. Some topics consist of images and videos and daily news articles are available.
Britannica Image Quest
Britannica Image Quest provides access to 3 million images from over 60 of the world’s best and most respected image libraries. All images are rights clearance for educational use with sourced information.
CNKI eBooks
CNKI eBooks library includes book series with great influence in the mainland and publishing masterpieces. The books are both historical, informative and research-oriented, covering the fields of philosophy and humanities, education and social sciences, and engineering science and technology etc.
iRead eBooks
iRead eBooks offers Chinese books, including literature, fiction and books on academic and design etc. Patrons can download an iRead eBooks APP on mobile device to read ebooks anytime, anywhere.
Self-Study Zone For Safety
In addition to providing basic safety training for construction practitioners, the Hong Kong Institute of Construction will also provide special safety training for specified trade with an aim to improve the overall safety level of related operations.
