Introduction
Hong Kong Institute of Construction maintains close contact with the industry. We provide diversified career counselling services to graduates of all full-time one-year courses, full-time two-year courses and full-time short courses for adults. The services are provided to help graduates enter the construction industry as soon as possible.
Students will be well prepared for entering the industry before graduation as they will take part in the following: the “Construction Supervisor and Technician Sponsorship Programme” sponsored by contractors, the Students Site Practices Scheme, the Build Your Life Mentorship Programme, employment workshops, career / company talks, employer / business association / alumni sharing sessions, site visits, job fairs and mock interviews, etc. After the students have been employed, we would conduct regular follow-up and provide counselling services in order to help the graduates adapt to working in the construction industry.
In the meantime, our alumni’s latest position and achievements in the industry are of key interest to us. Therefore, through the upcoming Students Alumni Association, we will provide several welfare privileges and organise events for alumni to network. We aim to increase the sense of belonging that the new generation and the future alumni have for HKIC and help establish a sense of mission in them for the construction industry. We hope to foster an exchange of knowledge and information between graduates and outstanding alumni to embrace the philosophy of passing on knowledge.
