15 April 2025 marked the 10th anniversary of National Security Education Day in Hong Kong. To commemorate this important occasion, flag-raising ceremonies and a National Security Education talk were hosted at HKIC’s Kowloon Bay, Kwai Chung, and Sheung Shui campuses in the morning. These events aimed to enhance students' understanding of the importance of national security and its close relationship with their personal lives.
The flag-raising ceremonies were led by the flag-raising teams from each of the three campuses. With heads held high, the flag bearers solemnly raised the national flag as the majestic national anthem played. Students and staff, filled with pride and respect, stood in salute to express their reverence for the nation. Following the ceremonies, Ms. Hazel Wong, Senior Training Officer of the Hong Kong Army Cadets Association, was invited to deliver a talk at the Kowloon Bay campus on the theme of "Holistic Approach to National Security". Ms. Wong provided an accessible explanation of the core elements of the Holistic Approach to National Security and emphasised the importance of safeguarding national security. The talk was met with enthusiastic engagement. It was also broadcast simultaneously to the Kwai Chung and Sheung Shui campuses via video, with over 300 students and staff participating, demonstrating their commitment to national security education.
