The CIC has recently signed Memorandums of Understanding (MoU) with Zhejiang Construction Technician College and China Engineering Construction Welding Association respectively to establish a partnership to provide training and exchange opportunities for the competitors in “Wall and Floor Tiling”, “Concrete Construction Work” and “Welding” of the WorldSkills Competition.

Ir Albert CHENG, Executive Director of the CIC, witnessed the MOU signing ceremonies. He encouraged young people to devote themselves to skills training, and mentioned that CIC signs MoUs with various China training bases of WorldSkills Competition to improve skill levels of competitors and project management quality through joint trainings.

Ir CHENG believed the partnerships with Zhejiang Construction Technician College, known as “a cradle of champions”, and China Engineering Construction Welding Association will undoubtedly enhance skill exchanges between competitors from Hong Kong and China. These collaborations will provide valuation opportunities for competitors, experts, and trainers to learn effective methods for nurturing high-calibre talents, improving core skills, and preparing them to excel in the WorldSkills Competition.

Representatives from the CIC visited the training bases of both organisations in Hangzhou and Beijing to gain insights into the training of the WorldSkills China Team. They also visited the Zhelijian Future Construction Center and iCenter of Tsinghua University to explore their development of advanced intelligent technologies and facilities.
